Earlier today, a photo emerged featuring Hollywood actor Johnny Depp alongside journalist Antonio Laje, who moonlights as a private jet pilot and was responsible for flying Depp in from Uruguay. Depp’s arrival in the country immediately caused a stir and fueled widespread speculation about his intentions in Argentina.
According to reports from NOTICIAS, Johnny Depp is set to spend a week in Buenos Aires while he records music at Jorge “Corcho” Rodríguez’s studio—La Roca Power Studio—located at Rodríguez’s residence in San Isidro. This visit appears to be connected to Depp’s previous trip to Punta del Este, where Rodríguez and his wife, Verónica Lozano, had invited him to the Yellow Rose ranch, allowing him the opportunity to watch polo matches.
It is believed that the friendship between “Corcho” Rodríguez and Depp was initiated through their mutual acquaintance with photographer Ross Halfin, famed for his work with rock legends. Sources indicate that they first met last year at the Rome and San Sebastián film festivals during the premiere of Depp’s film Modi, which he directed.
In addition to their personal connection, Depp and Rodríguez have also forged a business partnership. “Corcho” is involved in distributing Depp’s film across Latin America, and the two are collaborating on producing a wine, with the name, label design, and packaging to be finalized in the coming days.
